Paradox can probably, at this moment, produce a 64-bit version of Stellaris just by removing a compilation flag from their build system. OK, some of you have read wikipedia and are on your way to developing an actual resistance to knowledge, so I'll try something different: Especially because if it's some fanatic faction of your empire, they are going to have the exact same ships you do, with the exact same strength numbers as you do, making it an enormous material grind to kill them, especially early game. But if those stories involve combat in any form (which they often do) I'm really not interested in finishing them. That kind of determinism in combat really does not work for me.Ī nice aspect is that it tries to tell you stories about your civilization. I had battles where those numbers where exactly equal and they were often decided by the last shot. What I don't like however is when combat is reduced to a mere number. I liked Star Ruler's approach, I liked Star Ruler 2's and I like innovative games, that do it entirely different, like Endless Space. Combat sucks and is supposed to suck.Īnd I really like simple combat. It's not a 4X game, but (which Paradox's arrogant community misses no opportunity to tell you) a grand strategy game. ![]()
